Many thanks to Helping Hands for their kind hospitality during our recent visit to their Occupational Centre.

Formerly Known as Scope, Helping Hands are open from Monday to Friday every week providing a range of activities for the people who they support including Allen who lives at Mayfield House and Sue from Ferncliffe.

Arts & crafts, gardening, cooking, joinery, computers and special outings are among the activities offered. It was a pleasure to present them with a computer for their use which had been very kindly been donated by Stuart Lawlor from Age Concern, Calderdale.

Some of the people who attend the Centre, busy making pizza for lunch and in the Joinery section, special ornamental wheelbarrows generally used for plants.

Pat, Karen and Richard do a great job which is obvious from the enjoyment people show from attending the Centre.

Like many other charties, Helping Hands find it difficult to attract sufficient funding. If you would like to help in any way please ring Pat on 01422 366667.
