Summer Scheme

Funding for our 2010 Summer Scheme has been secured. This means that around 60 children and young people with learning disabilities, will once again have 10 days of funfilled activities during their school holidays.
We would like to say a big thank you to: 
BBC Children in Need and of course Pudsey Bear who will be making a big contribution towards the scheme for the next 3 years.
The Sobell Foundation who will be contributing towards the activities for the next 3 years.
Short Breaks for Disabled Children & Young People Grant of £5,000.
Not forgetting everyone else who has contributed towards this years Summer Scheme in one way or another. It is wonderful when people recognise this much valued service and are prepared to give there own time to raise funds for our worthy cause.
The scheme will be running from the 9th August to the 20th. if anyone would like further information contact Carol or Alison on 01422 322552

3 Star Excellence for 3 Homes

What a fantastic start to the year.
Gibraltar Road Nursing Home receiving the Gold Standard Award in Palliative Care.
The quality of our work has been further recognised through recent inspections by the Care Quality Commission which has resulted in Mayfield House, Ferncliffe and Gibraltar Road maintaining their excellent (3 star) status.
Care at the homes is of the highest possible calibre as the C.Q.C have not found fault with any aspect of running the homes.
We are delighted that our excellent (3 star ratings) have been maintained and everyone is very proud of these acheivments. Well done to all the managers and their teams for providing such superb care and support.

Easter Parade

Once again the Steward, Stewardess and members of the Halifax Bowling Club made us feel very welcome for our annual Easter Parade.
It is more than obvious that a lot of work had been put into making these bonnets. It must have been a tough decision for the judges.

Once again thank you Jim and Yvonne, everyone really enjoyed the day. Residents are now looking forward to attending the Summer Ball which will be held at the Bowling Club on 22nd August 2010.

Mediterranean Night

The Mediterranean charity night, organised by one of our Trustee's Dave Kershaw and his wife Janice turned out to be a great success.
Everyone who attended pulled out their holiday gear and at least for a night thought they were in the Med. There was beach, casual and evening wear and lots of trolly dollys and pilots!!! maybe the reason for that was they were grounded due to the volcanic dust.
A grand total of £850 was raised on the night with all proceeds going towards The Mayfield Trusts 2010 Summer Scheme.
Well done Kersh and Janice and everyone who helped to make the night a big success.
