Meeting Craig Charles

Susan and Raymond who live at Mayfield House had the opportunuty to meet Craig Charles who plays the character Lloyd in Coronation Street, when they spent a few days at the Bond Hotel in Blackpool which caters for a large number of people with disabilities.
Staff members Christine and Julie who acompanied Susan and Raymond were thrilled that Susan had got to meet one of the stars of Coronation Street as it is one of her favourite programs. They were also very impressed with Craig Charles as he took time to speak to everyone that was staying there, he was very friendly, made everyone laugh and most of all Susan and Raymond felt comfortable in his presence.
Craig who came to fame as the character Dave Lister in the long running TV seires Red Dwarf has contacted Christine to express his interests in the valuable work we do.
Many thanks to Craig for making Susan and Raymond's trip so enjoyable.

Collection day at Morrisons

We were very fortunate to have been given the opportunity by Morrisons Supermarket to have a collection day on Saturday 29th January at their new store on Keighley Road Illingworth Halifax.
In the centre Terry who lives at Mayfield House with Janet and Gerry who both work at Gibraltar Road Nursing Home.
These three were just a few of the staff and residents who helped on the day.
A total of £72.00 was raised. Thank you to everyone who donated and took an interest in the work we do.
We would also like to say thank you to John Husarz, Susan Healey and of course Wm Morrisons plc for giving us this opportunity.
