Quality Care

In December 2009 our Nursing Home at Gibraltar Road received a Gold Standard Award in palliative care. Janet Vaughan the Co-ordinator and Christine Dempsey the deputy Co-ordinator planned for this inspection and were aiming for an accreditation in Going for Gold in quality recognition. They were absolutely delighted when they were told that they had achieved the Solid Gold in quality assurance. The gold standard framework in care homes is about helping people live well until the end of life.
This was acheived through a high standard of training, development and commitment of a highly motivated staff team. Janet and Christine travelled to London earlier this year to be presented with the award.

The quality of our work has been further recognised by the recent inspection by The Care Quality Commission which has resulted in Mayfield House maintaining their excellent (3 star) status. Care at the home is of the highest possible calibre as the C.Q.C have not found fault with any aspect of running the home.
Richard Heywood the Operations Manager commented:
I am delighted with the palliative care award which further builds on the excellent quality standards of The Mayfield Trust residential services. Many thanks to Janet and Christine for all their hard work and commitment and to Sharon and her team at Mayfield House for an exceptional achievement.
Christmas Party
In December 2009 the Halifax Bowling Club Thrum Hall hosted a Christmas party for The Mayfield Trust. The party was well attended by residents, staff, family and friends.

No need to say much more just looking at these pictures shows that everyone had a fantastic time and put a lot of effort into their fancy dress costumes.

The residents and staff are now looking forward to the Easter Parade which will be held at the Bowling Club. We would like to say a big thank you to the Steward & Stewardess Jim and Yvonne for inviting us and always making us feel welcome.
