The Mayfield Trust has provided a Summer Scheme to children and young people with learning disabilities and other complex needs for over 30 years.
Many children and young people with a learning disability can easily become bored and feel isolated during their school holidays. The scheme provides 10 days of funfilled activities with visits to a variety of places.
Popular destinations include, Photography Museum, Thackery Museum, Cannon Hall Farm, Blackpool, Tenpin Bowling and many more. These outings are very popular and early booking for the scheme is recommended.
This year a happy parent wrote '' The scheme was excellent, staff were friendly, caring and helpful. The boys enjoyed the activities and it has improved their confidence immensely. I really appriciated the break thank you."
And one young person told us '' Staff were kind and helpful and it me made happy the way i was treated, i enjoyed being with my friends and going to different places each day"
Scheme staff member "Really enjoyed myself for the two weeks, it was nice to take the kids out and see them smiling, laughing and having fun, thanks"
