The Friendly Circle

Giving the people we support a voice and helping shape the future of our services.

About the Friendly Circle

The Friendly Circle represents people from across Mayfield’s services. Members meet regularly to talk about their experiences, share news, raise questions and contribute to decisions that affect the people we support.

Everyone brings their own ideas, strengths and experiences to the group. Meetings provide a welcoming place where people can speak openly, listen to one another and work together to make positive changes.

Our mission

We represent our services with honesty, positivity and commitment. We continually ask how we can make services better and how we can help create positive change for the people we support.

Together, we share ideas, learn from one another and take action where it matters. We support people to have a voice in the decisions that affect them and proudly represent both The Mayfield Trust and ourselves as people.

Together, we are the Friendly Circle: committed, caring and always looking forward.

Making a difference

The Friendly Circle has already contributed to a range of projects and conversations across Mayfield, including:

  • Helping create questions for the 2026 survey for people who use our services.

  • Developing “Getting to Know You” booklets to celebrate each person’s interests, preferences and personality.

  • Learning about safer lifting and carrying through a practical session with Mayfield’s training team.

  • Sharing feedback, raising concerns and suggesting ways to improve everyday experiences.

  • Welcoming guests from across the Trust to learn more about their roles.

  • Sharing news from different homes and services.

  • Supporting and contributing to Mayfield events and activities.
