At Gibraltar Road, we provide personalised nursing, health and wellbeing support in a welcoming, homely environment. Support is shaped around each person, their strengths, experiences, aspirations and what matters to them.

Gibraltar Road is a learning disability nursing home providing a home for up to 10 people.

The service includes eight rooms within the main house, alongside a two-bedroom self-contained bungalow. The home, gardens and local community facilities are accessible for people with physical disabilities, creating an environment where everyone can feel comfortable, safe and at home.

A Place to Call Home

Gibraltar Road isn't simply a nursing facility – it's home.

People are encouraged to enjoy their local community, take part in activities and have new experiences, with shared or one-to-one support available.

The home also has its own wheelchair-accessible vehicle, helping make days out and community activities more accessible.

Part of the Community

Gibraltar Road has been providing nursing care within the local community for decades.

“Care is more than meeting someone's needs. It's knowing the person, understanding what matters to them, and making every day feel safe, valued and full of meaning.”

Gibraltar Road is home to adults aged 18 and over, with no upper age limit.

We take the time to get to know each person, understanding their strengths, experiences, aspirations, and the support that is important to them. This helps us establish whether Gibraltar Road is the right place for them and whether we can provide the support they need to live a fulfilling life.

Creating a positive home environment is important to us. We carefully consider how each new person will fit within the existing community, ensuring everyone feels welcomed, respected and valued.

When Gibraltar Road is the right choice, we work closely with the person, their family and those important to them to plan a gradual introduction. This gives people time to build relationships, become familiar with their new surroundings, and feel comfortable and confident as they settle into their new home.
