Rehearsals, pamper time, and independence

A Busy and Active Day for Connor

Connor had a busy day. He went to the gym and the supermarket, keeping active and building his independence along the way.

We are really proud of the effort Connor puts in at the gym. Keep up the great work, Connor.

Building Skills and Inclusive Support

We are always looking at ways to improve our knowledge and develop the skills of our support staff.

Some of our staff and supervisors are currently taking part in a sensory sport workshop with Sense. The workshop focuses on adapting sports and activities to make them fully inclusive for all the people we support.

Well done to everyone taking part and continuing to build their skills to provide the best possible support.

A Busy and Fun Filled Week for Alex

Alex has been busy this week. He has been visiting local parks, taking part in activities within the Hub, and exploring places in the local community.

It has been a fun filled week with lots of variety, smiles, and new experiences.

Pamper Time for Rachel

Rachel had a lovely pamper session in the Hub. Everyone deserves a little bit of me time now and again.

We think her nails look absolutely great.

Sunshine and Smiles at Shibden Park

We love a park visit when the sun is out. We visited Shibden Park for a lovely walk, to look at the ducks, and of course spend some time in the park having fun.

It was the perfect way to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air together.

A Fun Filled Saturday Adventure

Last Saturday, Rachel, Nathaniel and Charlie had a fun-filled day. They spent time playing in the garden before heading to Airtime in Halifax for an exciting visit.

They had a lovely time bouncing on the trampolines and enjoying lots of fun together.

Lights, Camera, Rehearsal Time

Our drama practices are going really well as we get ready for our yearly performance at the annual Mayfield Summer Party.

We have been practising our lines, our singing, and maybe even a few dance moves along the way. We are also very lucky to be using the room at the fire station to rehearse in.

We are all in this together… can you guess the theme?

On Thursday, 18th June 2026, four dedicated members of staff from the Mayfield Trust nursing service will be taking on an incredible challenge to raise money for the people we support.

The team will attempt to walk approximately 100,000 steps in around 12 hours, starting at Gibraltar Road Nursing Home before walking to Woodhouse Road, Todmorden, where they will begin the climb up to the famous Stoodley Pike. Once they reach the summit, they will head back down and complete the journey all the way back to Gibraltar Road.

To make the challenge even more memorable, staff will also be completing the walk in fancy dress!

Every donation will help the Mayfield Trust continue supporting people with learning disabilities and will go towards improving equipment, activities and renovations that benefit the people we care for every day.

This is going to be a huge physical challenge:

• Around 100,000 steps

• Approximately 12 hours walking

• One very big hill

• Plenty of sore feet

• All for an amazing cause

No donation is too small and every pound will help motivate the team along the route.

Thank you so much for supporting our Miles for Smiles challenge and helping us continue making a difference.
