A Proud Achievement for Declan

We are so proud to share that Declan has completed his Level 1 Bricklaying course at Calderdale College.

Declan is incredibly proud of himself, and rightly so. He has worked really hard and achieved something he never thought possible before coming to Parish View.

Well done, Declan. Your hard work and dedication have truly paid off, and we cannot wait to see what you achieve next.

Bowling, Teamwork, and Smiles

Everyone from Day Service Provision and Outreach all got together for a friendly game of bowling.

It was a great chance for everyone to socialise, have fun, and enjoy a little friendly competition. There were lots of smiles, laughter, and teamwork all around.

Exploring the Beauty of Manor Heath Park

This week, Alex has been exploring Manor Heath Park. He discovered the Tropical World and the peaceful, walled garden tucked away at the back.

It is so lovely to have such beautiful places right on our doorstep.

An Exciting Day at Emergency Services Day

Leah attended Calderdale College’s Emergency Services Day this week and had a lovely time. She enjoyed watching a rescue re-enactment and getting the chance to look around all the emergency service vehicles.

It was a really exciting and interesting day.

Fun and Friendship at Arden Road

Ross and Rachel had a fantastic time at Arden Road on Monday. There was bingo, a quiz, and of course lots of dancing, laughter, and fun with friends.

It was a brilliant day which they really enjoyed.

Happy Birthday Alex

This week Alex celebrated her birthday with us. She chose to go out for a meal with her friends and of course there was plenty of cake too.

Everyone at The Mayfield Trust would like to wish Alex a very Happy Birthday. We hope she had an amazing day filled with fun, laughter, and special memories.

Fresh Air, Friendship, and Wellbeing Walks

We joined the Wondering Wombles this week for a wellbeing walk around Manor Heath Park. It is always such a lovely event to take part in, and the Wombles always make sure it is fully accessible for all the people we support.

It was a great chance to enjoy the fresh air, socialise, and spend time outdoors together.

On Thursday, 18th June 2026, four dedicated members of staff from the Mayfield Trust nursing service will be taking on an incredible challenge to raise money for the people we support.

The team will attempt to walk approximately 100,000 steps in around 12 hours, starting at Gibraltar Road Nursing Home before walking to Woodhouse Road, Todmorden, where they will begin the climb up to the famous Stoodley Pike. Once they reach the summit, they will head back down and complete the journey all the way back to Gibraltar Road.

To make the challenge even more memorable, staff will also be completing the walk in fancy dress!

Every donation will help the Mayfield Trust continue supporting people with learning disabilities and will go towards improving equipment, activities and renovations that benefit the people we care for every day.

This is going to be a huge physical challenge:

• Around 100,000 steps

• Approximately 12 hours walking

• One very big hill

• Plenty of sore feet

• All for an amazing cause

No donation is too small and every pound will help motivate the team along the route.

Thank you so much for supporting our Miles for Smiles challenge and helping us continue making a difference.
