Smiles, Miles, Museums and much more.

On Thursday, 18th June 2026, four dedicated members of staff from the Mayfield Trust nursing service will be taking on an incredible challenge to raise money for the people we support.

The team will attempt to walk approximately 100,000 steps in around 12 hours, starting at Gibraltar Road Nursing Home before walking to Woodhouse Road, Todmorden, where they will begin the climb up to the famous Stoodley Pike. Once they reach the summit, they will head back down and complete the journey all the way back to Gibraltar Road.

To make the challenge even more memorable, staff will also be completing the walk in fancy dress!

Every donation will help the Mayfield Trust continue supporting people with learning disabilities and will go towards improving equipment, activities and renovations that benefit the people we care for every day.

This is going to be a huge physical challenge:

• Around 100,000 steps

• Approximately 12 hours walking

• One very big hill

• Plenty of sore feet

• All for an amazing cause

No donation is too small and every pound will help motivate the team along the route.

Thank you so much for supporting our Miles for Smiles challenge and helping us continue making a difference.

A Calm and Creative Morning

Ross had a lovely morning doing jigsaws in the Hub. It was a nice calm activity and a perfect way to relax and focus.

Great work, Ross.

Exploring Leeds City Museum

Alex, Nigel, and Simon have been exploring Leeds City Museum. It has quickly become a new favourite place for Alex to visit, especially with all the interactive displays.

It was a great day of learning, exploring, and having fun.

Drama in the Sunshine

We had a fun time practising our drama in the garden this week. Our rehearsals are going really well as we get ready for our summer play.

We are so lucky to have such a lovely outdoor space to use. It is the perfect place for bringing our performance to life.

Starting the Day the Fun Way

We made the most of the facilities here at the Hub and kicked off the day with a fun wake up shake up exercise session.

It was a great way to get moving, boost our energy, and start the day with plenty of smiles before heading out into the community.

Well done everyone.

Bowling, Laughter, and Good Times

We had a fun session at Halifax Electric Bowl last week. It is always full of fun and smiles and such a lovely place to visit.

A great time was had by everyone.

Cooking Skills and Cornflake Chicken Success

Our Tuesday cooking group tried out a new recipe this week. They made cornflake-coated chicken, and it was a big hit.

It was great fun learning new skills and working on fine motor skills along the way.

Well done everyone.
